Japan's largest industry-academia-government collaboration event
This exhibition is one of Japan’s largest industry-academia-government collaboration events, centered in Shizuoka Prefecture and Fuji City, promoting the utilization of biomass materials including cellulose nanofibers (CNF). It showcased numerous sustainable cellulose-derived material developments and the latest technologies and products aimed at realizing a circular society.
Exhibition Content
Our company introduced a development case study for “CNF bicycle tires” utilizing biomaterials. These bicycle tires incorporate a cellulose-based biofiller and employ a naturally derived material design that avoids carbon black. This approach aims to reduce CO₂ emissions at each stage—manufacturing, use, and disposal—while minimizing tire wear particles (microplastics). Their white, soft texture and unique material formulation achieve both environmental performance and design appeal.
Poster Exhibition
At the exhibition booth, prototype tires were displayed, drawing significant interest from attendees representing automotive and bicycle parts manufacturers, chemical companies, and research institutions. Discussions also took place regarding the mass production of biomaterials and compliance with European environmental regulations (LCA, WP29, Euro 7), creating an opportunity to expand possibilities for future technical collaboration.
LIPPER will continue to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through the development of mobility materials that harmonize with nature.
