WAVES Overview
In September 2023, Shizuoka Prefecture formulated the ‘Shizuoka Prefecture Start-up Support Strategy’ in order to clarify its commitment to supporting start-ups, which could become the future drivers of employment, income and finances in the prefecture, to build momentum for start-up support and to promote collaboration with relevant organisations.
This year, based on this strategy, the ‘Shizuoka Prefecture Start-up Business Plan Contest WAVES’ is being organised, which aims to implement start-up businesses in the region.
Supporting outstanding start-ups that solve local problems
This business plan competition invites local problem-solving ideas from start-ups from within and outside the prefecture, and aims to grow and implement new businesses in the region that will revitalise the whole of Shizuoka Prefecture through an overall programme of brush-up/follow-up and other activities.
